I’ve always ran 22.5’s on my trucks. That’s what the fleets run so that’s where the new technology and tread patterns will show up first and you’ll be able to find a tire easier if you have an emergency on the road.

I had 10 tires put on. The dealer had to go 2 other locations to get a set of drives and 2 steers. That's in Davenport,IA. Could you imagine trying to get a set in the middle of nowhere? If I putting what I want on instead of what I have would cost no time nor money, I'd have 22.5s on for that very reason.
OhNoTerry and Pamela1990 Thank this. -
Skip the KW stylized wheels, go with regular Alcoa's. You may need one out on the road some day and most tire stores will have a normal Alcoa. Not so with the stylized wheels, you'll have to go to the dealer for a new one. Kenworth also changes their stylized wheel designs periodically and you might have trouble finding a match in the future.
Whether they're Dura-Bright or not is you call, I don't like polishing wheels if it can be avoided so I'd stick with Dura-Bright.
You just want the standard Alcoa's, not the "Ultra Lightweight" version. I've had to replace a couple of the lightweight ones under warranty in a steer axle application due to cracking.
On the W900, go with the 7" wide fuel tank straps. They look nice (my opinion), they increase ground clearance and the rubber liners don't fall apart as often as the skinny version. Also, go with the smooth battery and toolbox covers rather than diamond plate. Diamond plate is miserable to polish.
I like the look of no sleeper extender fairings. After a while the steel brackets will start to rust and look ugly. Decide whether you want them now, because removing them later means bodywork and paint, they're installed before the truck is painted at the factory.
Get the factory installed mirror bracket turn signals, and the sleeper roof lights. Wiring them later is a nuisance.
I like the look when you delete the hood mounted Kenworth emblem, you can always add it later but you can't "un-drill" the holes.
Order the under-hood work lights. They're very handy, once you get used to having them you'll wonder how you lived without them.
Order whatever color you like, but leave the chassis black. The paint warranty on anything other than standard black is very short.Bean Jr., Oxbow, kylefitzy and 1 other person Thank this. -
What color of Fuzzy Dice did you order?

I planned on going no sleeper extenders due not being sure how much clearance I'll have during a tight jack knife when bumping a dock. Only ####ty part is, if I ever lack judgement and don't pay attention then it will be my sleeper with the damage and not the fairing. -

The Kenworth ordering software won't let you spec a frame so short there's a chance of trailer interference with the cab extenders. The extenders have a significant aerodynamic benefit (i.e. fuel economy benefit).
