I think EVERYTHING should be shut down until;
1. The person who signed his CDL is in jail, for a long time.
2. Owner of the company, in jail
3. Safety officer from same company, in jail.
4. Bureaucrats who allow people to come in and REQUIRE no english reading and writing skills training, BEFORE getting a safety sensitive job,... yup, JAIL.
All these Phuckers need to be delt with and harshly, instead of throwing the driver under the bus. They are the first line of defense in all this, it's their JOBS to make sure undertrained people who cant read or write english make it out on the roads. 110 years when gang bangers and drug dealers, who kill many more with their recklessness, providing fentanyl to the weak, get off lightly.
I'll set blast shields to full...

He made an error in judgment. Should not be in jail for life.
Why was traffic stopped at the bottom of the hill? Was there a warning that traffic was stopped at the bottom? I've never made a panic full stop at the bottom of a 5 mile hill, but I doubt it would go well if I tried.Chieftains, feldsforever and Elroythekid Thank this. -
I thought he was talking about the freightliner Coronadofeldsforever Thanks this.

what error in judgment are you talking about...? Driving with knowen bad brakes.....? Speeding.....? Passing the escape ramp....? Passing the 2nd escape ramp....? Purposely Driving into stopped traffic instead of putting it in the ditch....??
no but 30-50 years.
back up from an accidentfeldsforever, Pamela1990, Hammer166 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The accident was an unseen link in a chain.
That would mean he is not fully at fault.
Just FYI murder means someone intended to kil.. homicide and manslaughter means killed, without intent.feldsforever Thanks this. -
Hes not really guilty of manslaughter, reclass disregard maybe, I just cant get over how this guy, who knew NOTHING about driving a truck other than the wheel does this, the pedal on the right does that..... that he gets ALL the blame. Its interesting that all the arm chair quarterbacks say, I would donr this, I woulda done that... until your actually staring down the barrel of that loaded gun, you have zero idea what exactly you would do. He probably had no idea what the escape ramps were for, and other than the stopped traffic at the bottom would have made it. The fact he couldn't read or write and made it as far as he did in the trucking world, blows my mind.
The fact nobody who put him in that situation has their feet held to the fire, and once again the driver (the little man) is thrown under the bus, disgusts me.RedForeman, feldsforever and Gsm Thank this. -
You missed illegally obtaining a CDL.....feldsforever, flood and Hammer166 Thank this.

Almost every trip over the mountain, you'll either see a brake fire, or someone trying their best start one.
Job market for 400lb ex-operators seems slim, too.
You come off a hill with your brakes completely cool, like you're supposed to, and a panic stop is no problem, although it will be a touch longer due to the slope.
He's blowing past stopped traffic on the shoulder, and realizes the shoulder is blocked by a stopped big truck. And you think turning into stopped traffic instead taking the ditch shouldn't be manslaughter? WTH?4mer trucker, wore out and Pamela1990 Thank this. -
People been watching to much Yellowstone or the sopranos… when was the last time you saw any truck driver with the balls to stop another truck and demand the keys over someone they don’t know in prison? Get past that, find a driver you were really concerned would try and enforce it.
Trucker61016, RedForeman and feldsforever Thank this. -
How did he do that?feldsforever Thanks this.
