If you run the machine with having your mask on it won't show that it is being used. I have heard of a guy that ran his machine and wire the mask while driving down the road, but I doubt that a report would show he was sleeping. If the doc just looked at the compliance stat and not the rest of the report, he might get away with it. I don't really know.

I think it would be hard because it records every breath someone takes. You can't just let it run because it won't keep track of any EVENTs or AHI average for the hours used. Someone could be awake and use CPAP to add usage time. They even tell people when you first get CPAP to use it even it your watching TV and not sleeping. They take time to adjust to

I believe you can only get 1 year med card once on CPAP. I have a ResMed cpap it has built in cell phone data. It uploads your usage everyday. Then you log in the app and see your info for sleep reports

That's bull$@*#. You shouldn't have to use it unless you're about to go on duty.

As I have been told, the requirement is min 4 hrs per day with a 70% usage. Which means 7 out of 10 days, you use it for at least 4 hrs each day. When I 1st started, I got a count-down timer from Radioshack, set it for 4.5 hrs. I could tell if the numbers were going up or down even with my glasses off. Many times I would lay there for 13 min more before ripping the mask off. It helped when Phillips had their app working and I could check how many hrs that night vs AHI was recorded, Now I have to pull the card to upload via computer.Last edited: Dec 31, 2021

If your Insurance, Doctor, budget would allow it, I would suggest getting a smaller portable backup one.

The app is maybe rounding the data to make the program work better, but anyway, you have to go by the manufacturer's medical certified program for any Official reports.
Oscar (based on earlier version of Sleepyhead) was created after that CPAP group had a falling out with the Creator of Sleepyhead, Mark Watkins [Jedimark.net – Sleep Deprived Software Developer] of Australia.
