C'mon, give the guy a break.
Does he really deserve 10 years in jail, much less 110 - just because he failed to control his speed, failed to use available ramps and ended up crashing into a bunch of people and killing some?
Shouldn't stupidity and lack of judgement count in his favor?
Isn't pandering to the lowest common denominator something we should be doing?
Maybe it is, because that is how things have been going for some time now.

These are the same people who believe his brakes just magically failed out of nowhere and that he should have all charges dropped and be set free with his record expunged because he “didn’t mean to do it.”Last Call and CorsairFanboy Thank this.

They should have executed him on the side of the highway. But once again, the justice system shows it’s weakness.Pamela1990, MJM, JonJon78 and 3 others Thank this.

This law has been on the books since the 90’s and it seems there wasn’t a problem until this guy was sentenced.
the governor is wrong and the people who think he is wrongly convicted, the guy should have been charged with four counts of murder with a death sentence hanging in the balance because he had several times to stop the truck and instead plowed into the stopped cars.RockinChair, Hammer166, buddyd157 and 1 other person Thank this. -
So hang him but do it quick! That would be better that this foolishness of sentencing for 110 years or 234 years and releasing him after 15. Or keeping someone on a death row for 20 years. You got your law in place, execute it so it is plain and simple to understand.
Sentences that carry more than a human life time span is nothing but sheer idiocy! -
The governor of Colorado rolled up a big fat 1 and smoked it then reduced the killer's sentence to 10 years he could be out in 5 years to kill again....
Thats 1.33 years just for each person he killed.. no accounting for the people he injured
Gota love the scales of the justice system when politics come into playRockinChair and CorsairFanboy Thank this. -
I am all right to grasp the notion of a stern law. I don't nessecarly agree with all the aspects of it but if that's what the people want, so be it. I cannot stand charades that are made of it. OK the 12 determined he is a murderer - so be it - hang him 5 minutes after the conviction - the law is served.
But the 12 determined he was guilty of an unfortunate accident and he got 110 years life imprisonment. I don't see any common sense in it. You don't sentence a person for life imprisonment - the highest possible - because of an accident. And if it is accident, it does not matter if 1,4 or 400 dies because of it. The level of evil is the same. The sentence should address the level of evil, which cannot be measured by an arithmetical formula.Last edited: Dec 31, 2021
