That’s why I never wait until the last stop to chain. When I see the sign that says chains required xx miles ahead I’ll stop and chain there. 3-5 miles of 25mph is better than three trucks deep in 2+feet of snow.
As I pass all those pore soles waiting a mile from the chain area I can’t help but laugh at how they saved 10 minutes by blowing by the last 3 chain up areasjon69 Thanks this. -
What are chains?

Or worse, while spun out on a hill. I’ve been chaining up while trucks come flying down the hill beside you and it’s scary. At that point it’s a matter of throwing them on quickly and moving and not caring what the chains look like at the top of the hill as they’ll likely be hurting but you can hopefully be alive.

That is why I will park and just wait until chain up is lifted, just not worth it too many fools out there

Pull into Holiday Inn and sit by the pool , with the chain law is in effect , something you know about hours in advance
