In my 47 years of driving, I see the government (DOT) focusing on sleep apnea! When they are putting people in a commercial vehicle without proper training. You don’t have someone go to truck driving school, for a month, then put them on the road on their own. Especially in mountain territories. You just don’t do that. But this country is in such a driver shortage, hog wash!! I’ve had enough of reckless truck drivers on the road. Stop putting untrained people in a commercial vehicle, until they are properly trained. The hell with this sleep apnea crap, train these truck drivers right, and save lives on the roads.

Killing someone on the side of the road instead of arresting them for trial is murder, and that’s definitional lynching.
I’m sure people who lost loved ones are hurting, that’s not an argument for murdering someone on the side of the road nor is it a sufficient argument for a specific criminal sentence. Clearly the public at large did not agree with the sentence. -
He CHOOSE to drive the truck into the stopped vehicles.. no different than what a kamikaze pilot
Or pointing a gun at a crowd and CHOOSING to pull the trigger
And you feel symphonic for him ??? Or are you using the term accidental too ???? But if Somebody like myself doesn't agree with you then you feel that I'am a part of a lynch mob...TripleSix Thanks this. -
Well if you agree with killing someone on the side of the road who is submitting to arrest and can be taken into custody to be charged in the court system, then you are advocating for a lynching which is what I was responding to.
also to claim this was the same as a “kamikaze pilot” or a mass shooter is absurd. Kamikaze pilots took off from the airport with the full intention of crashing into ships, mass shooters take weapons to specific areas with plans to begin shooting. He veered into travel lanes and closed his eyes because he was afraid of hitting another obstruction. That is not a free and preplanned decision. It is not premeditation turning manslaughter into murder.Dadetrucking305 Thanks this. -

Ok, listen, the kid should not have been behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle, in mountain territory, period!! He was not trained for that . I’m not qualified to drive in mountain territory, and I’ve been driving for a long time. I would have to run with someone that drives in that type of territory to be comfortable running by myself. There’s procedures these men and woman do to run Safely, everyday, in mountain territory. And! It’s not done overnight.
If someone wants to drive in mountain territory, I hope you have the sense to have someone that is well qualified and been doing it for a long time, to show you the ropes. Government doesn’t get it. We need proper training on the roads , before we turn the keys over to new truck drivers.Basil Ganglia and dwells40 Thank this. -

I hope this thread keeps going , we really need to learn from what happen here. This is very important. Sure we’re going to disagree, and agree, but we need to learn from it.
Last Call Thanks this. -
Ok, so what?
thats not really relevant, The crime a vehicle or manslaughter presupposes that different actions would’ve prevented the death. Otherwise you are not liable for causing a death
