They're out there. On my current bid I chose to step up my hours some for the extra money, but then we re-bid in the spring. Currently working about 55 hours, was working 48-50 on my old bid.
Do 40-50 hour weeks, hourly pay, and home nightly jobs exist?

Perhaps I should give more details, I'm a new grad at my first job running food service, so I'm already getting hourly pay and home nightly. Thanks for all of the responses.

Yeah, you're definitely going to be busting your rump doing food service. Keep at it and after you've gotten some more experience in you'll be able to find something you like better and more rewarding. It'll all pay off eventually.Speedy356, Switcher and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

That’s what my son does, food service. His shift consists of 4/12’s and some. It’s a walk in the park for him. You can’t beat the benefits especially healthcare. However, he is a dedicated Teamsters man.meechyaboy, Dennixx, Switcher and 1 other person Thank this.

They exist.
I’m in a paid hourly Class B CDL job. I drive 486 miles a day (243 out and back) one stop at turn around, 4 times a week. That’s right M-Th, and when it snows I stay local helping with inventory. If I stay local my days are 9 hrs long (0700-1700. If I drive they are between 11-14 hours. (0700-1800/2100) Overtime is 1.5 hourly rate over 40 for a week.
Just for fun I averaged my mileage vs pay for the last 3 months and came up with $0.55 a mile for all you OTR types.
oh yea. It is NOT a union job.dwells40, LtlAnonymous and Switcher Thank this. -
Lol strangely aggressive, if I'm reading that right?FoodStamp, Lumper Humper, sevenmph and 1 other person Thank this.

NOT union. Come at me, bruh. Come at me!
Lumper Humper, Hazmat Cat, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yes and no. Every time I tell someone where I work or that I drive so few hours i get the “it must be a union job!” I’m just tired of the accusation. Good paying jobs do exist out side of unions is all I’m trying to say.RockinChair, Lumper Humper, Gearjammin' Penguin and 4 others Thank this.

I had that type of driving job for 18 years. That doesn't mean there are MANY of those jobs where you live, working days, weekends & holidays off, MAKING $1,000+ PER WEEK. I was hauling auto parts for Averitt Express near Nashville, TN moving empty racks/parts for assembly line production. Great and inexpensive health insurance. IIRC, I was making $800-950/week. The schedule change from M-F 48 weeks per year to mandatory 6 day weeks 49 weeks per year and your one day off was during the week.
When these question are usually asked often the poster wants that type of job if it pays $1,500 per week, M-F, off by 3pm, etc. EVERY city has jobs hauling trash, delivering for food service companies, doing construction and dump trucks. The new guys usually just refuse to take a job if it doesn't pay a ton, has a convenient schedule, using a new truck, and with free insurance.Badmon, LtlAnonymous, Switcher and 1 other person Thank this.
