How "exciting" is the QT (a wee bit south of 40) at N. Graham & Dalton?
"Looks" like a few Tractors cud park up.

 

theres a 7-11 at x 81 on north side of 85 before bills. just right passed chewy

 

When I was a new driver, I had a dude come up to me with a sob story about needing a tow, he needed 60 bucks or something, I knew he was FOS, but I gave him 5 bucks. He looked at me and said, no, I need 60 bucks. Oh, sorry, I told him, took my 5 bucks back and ignored him. His face was priceless. Never gave money again.

 

Had something similar happen to me in West Memphis AR. Only it was a single guy claiming he locked himself out of his KW. Needed a longer slimjim to pop the lock. I told him I would walk with him to TS and buy it. He refused and just wanted me to give him cash. Sorry I don't carry cash. Walked away to the next potential victim.

 

Wat About "Kings Mountain Truck Stop", X 5? I've parked there a FEW times, randomly for some Fuel and Snacks or Naps then Adios.

Saw a guy standing on the corner off interstate 20 Loves exit holding a big sign, “please help, need money for car repair.”

a month later I pull off the same exit and he’s there still. Lol had some sob story about his pregnant wife, etc etc.

 

Sometimes soliciting for money leads to a “solution” that the person didn’t expect.

A few years back a Good Samaritan helped a couple out with a slide hammer, they were trying to scam $150 out of people fueling up at a pilot.

The guy thought he was doing them a favor by popping the lock out of the door while they were in the store got into his pickup and left.

They were not happy and no one said who did it and were screaming no one had to damage their car, they had their keys.

 

For real .

always get a spare key made and hide it

spray paint it black and use a twist tie from a loaf of bread to secure it to a wire under the truck somewhere.

worth its weight in gold when you lock yourself out . And if you haven’t , your time is coming .

I also had a duplicate license issued , when I lost mine and later found it , and I kept it amd a few benjimans amd a copy of my physical hidden in the cab .

wait till you’re 2000 miles from home and lose your wallet ….
That’s a fun week.

 

Her boyfriend is a woman, set in her car and watched from the motel across the street .I called her out , boy did she get pissed. Kept using sign language to call me number one truck driver.

 

I was at a TS a few years back
Guy comes up. Out of gas blah blah blah

I tell him all I use is corporate cards. No cash
3 weeks later. Same guy. Same TS
I ask him if he’d been sitting here since we last spoke 3 weeks earlier
He just walked away

And another in Denver
Guy has a story. Truck in shop etc
Needs bus fare home and is close but still $90 short
I say. Company card etc
He asked to use my CB. I decline

He leaves and comes back about an hour later and says he just bought this $400 tv for a grad present but would sell it to me for the $90

I say sure. I’ll take the tv
He goes off on how I have $$ for tv but not to help
I simply tell him to get the blank away from my truck

I’ve told friends that one day when I’m doing a 34 I'm going to go sit at the light and see just how much $$ I can make
