Luckily my parents didn't name me Jack, but definitely a joke I've heard plenty of times, haha
Thanks for all the replies, unfortunately I can't reply all.
Thanks Blair. You're absolutely right, the green card seems impossible. Guess the only sure way is going to Canada, but it's quite a hard decision, since I would rather live in the States. But oh well, I guess Canada also has its perks, especially when coming from Denmark. Marrying a southern gal sounds like a dream, but would probably be impossible, since I can't spend longer than 90 days in the States haha.
I actually hold a bachelor in Technology Management and Marine Engineering and a C1/D visa for seafarers. This Visa is pretty pointless though, but perhaps this could help me get a green card.
I will definitely apply for the green cad lottery, and have already contacted a few trucking companies, and a visa agency, so hopefully I can get some inputs from them.
I have never heard of a US driver in Europe, so I highly doubt there is an exchange program. Comparing salaries in Europe is hard, as it's not one country. Eastern Europe and Southern Europe definitely have a lower salary, but Scandinavian, and especially danish, drivers are some of the highest paid drivers in the world. The Crossword Trucker said: ↑Is there an exchange program?

I highly doubt you would enjoy it though. Trucks are way smaller, and the roads are a lot smaller. Most of Europe is definitely not build for our "big" trucks.blairandgretchen, dwells40, Crusader66 and 3 others Thank this. -

Work for a Canadian company and do cross border runs. You will spend most of your time in the US, maybe you could even take your resets/days off down here often enough to feel like you are living here.Nicklasmeyhoff said: ↑Luckily my parents didn't name me Jack, but definitely a joke I've heard plenty of times, haha

You're right, I bet I could make that work, but US is just a bit more attracting. But definitely a solution that will work.brian991219 said: ↑Work for a Canadian company and do cross border runs. Yes, I agree the continental US is much more appealing to live in than Canada but at least you would be on the same continent, and it may allow you to explore the US to see if it is as great as you believe before making a huge commitment. Canada does have much easier to obtain work visa for truck drivers, and with nearly free access to the US as a trucker you could do a lot of exploration for a minimal personal investment.Nicklasmeyhoff said: ↑Thank you. Either way I hope you find what you are looking for. I may be biased being born an American but even with our problems I wouldn't want to trade my country for anywhere else.dwells40 and Crusader66 Thank this. -
@Nicklasmeyhoff - Maybe @BigHossVolvo can give you leads on staffing agencies hiring drivers from overseas.

If you can get to Canada, that's a start.
