I bet when all carriers are paperless, we wont be getting pulled in to the scales as often to check logs.

CR England is going to Paperless Logs, when I was tranfered to Paperless logs during training I was informed that I could contact my dispatcher to 'empty' me out and drive on line 1 to return the DC. I was was informed that this would extend my usable HOS, as well as offering an earlier start time. My dispatch was not only aware of this policy, but compliant as well. Paperless logs are a descent idea as long as there is a means to monitor the process, and there are REAL consequences for the chair-fillers that allegedly enforce the policies with the companies.
For the record, when I drove for Werner, they did not allow playing with the dispatchers access to alter or augment paperless logs, that was log department only.
Is is a good idea? 6 of one, half dozen of the other. It allows honest HOS Driver to stay honest, however drivers that know the ins and outs can find a way. Again, 6 of one, half dozen of the other... -
E-logs are accepted in Canada, unless you are speaking of a Prime-only situation. When I was leased to CPx all we had were E-logs (PeopleNet). I was inspected at Hope, Kamloops and Coutts, as well as an RCMP stop and it was never an issue. -
