So you couldn't just wear a large or extra large? That's essentially all the tall sizes are...just the next size up.

Tall is not just the next size up. The next size up generally adds a little in the shoulder and a LOT of girth. If I wear an XL shirt it looks pleated when I tuck it in. Tall sizes are generally the same in the shoulder and around the middle, but add an inch or so to the sleve and several inches of length.

One of the great annoyances in my life is when I buy an xl shirt to get enough length to be able to tuck it in, but the sleeves are still too short.

I’m tall as well and I just wear short sleeves all year. It’s easier to adapt then to fight looking for XL Tall because even if it’s tall I still find them too short.

I would be ok with it. I do not care what deal you made when you were hired, nor should my deal concern you.
