here are some pics of an electric single axle I took the other day at a pickup. It was going to be fit with a custom flatbed. Check out the drive motor. A single motor driving a standard type differential. There were LOTS of batteries all over it.

 

Do you know the intended final purpose?

 

I just don't understand why someone would want an electric vehicle with a full driveline. Just......why.

 

Uses a stock off the self axle and suspension. I’m sure eventually motors could be mounted at each wheel end but that’s a lot of extra engineering. One of the reason high track dozers came about is it’s much “easier” to have a drive motor that only has to drive the track and not carry any of the weight.

 

No I do not. I’ll ask next time I’m in there. It was parked by the faculty exit so I stopped and took those pics on my way out.
