    My retirement began 06/22/2011 and while I enjoy every moment especially while Rving with my wife in our 5th wheel and visiting our children. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss trucking. After 44 years and about 3 million miles it became routine with all the ups and downs but I still was glad that I had followed in my father's footsteps. I wouldn't want to be driving professionally today with all the pressure, electronic logs, hours of service and automatic transmissions. You always have memories and friendships to rember.

    I’ve been at it for 42 years and even with all of the automation I still love it. Work for a private fleet so don’t have to deal with headaches that others have on this thread and others working for a mega. Trucking has changed a lot over the years but so has everything else.
