Fun part of TN on I-40 mid way, or so, between Crashville and Knoxvegas rolling East in 70' Combo.
FOG in areas, NO rain, Night, 22:30 or so, I've slowed Down to 50 m.p.h., 4-ways, Granny Lane, C.B. ON, 3 Combos Blow past me (probably 65-70+), I asked "How do You SEE?", receive in English: "We Know This Road, No Problem".
I was familiar with road too, but not BLIND.
I rolled Driver window down listening for Carnage Noise. No Such sound.
Fog Cleared in 5 miles.

In the past, most truckers had a CB radio to communicate in dangerous situations on the road. Now if there is a pile-up the warning from my radio is useless because instead of CB radios there are phones only, but I don't know their numbers

First week out with my Trainer we had terrible weather. Pouring rain, windy, thunder, minimal visibility and it was very cold but not quite freezing. We were running a local route around and through DFW- but no one cared. They were flying at 85+mph, just being dummies...
He got behind the wheel first thing and told me emphatically, "When the weather is bad, my Rule is: I'm making it home to my wife! No cruise, no Jake, nothing over 45mph all day today!" He also told me his guide lines for parking it should it get any worse. (He was from the Northeast)
I was like, YES SIR, and when it was my turn, he kept a close eye on me.
Anytime the weather is rough, I think of him and his rule.Magoo1968 Thanks this. -
It's a combination of a number of things usually it involves low visibility in heavy fog, with some drivers naturally slowing down which of course is the right thing to do, while others continue to travel at the posted speed which is the wrong thing to do, if a heavy vehicle does not allow a safe stopping distance ( at least 5 seconds at 60 mph) behind the vehicle it is following it is a given that if required to brake it is going to slam into the vehicle in front of it, and this is how the domino effect occurs to many vehicles all traveling to close and to high a speed in limited visibility.

The mobile igloos. Completely covered in snow. Even if their lights are on, you'd never see them. All they got is their little 2x2 peek hole on their windshield.Shawn2130 Thanks this.

A little snow, a little stupid, add a little car and a semi and...
Got this pic a few days ago on 80. -
It’s amazing all the Toyota Priuses and Honda Fits you’ll see out trying to run around in a snowstorm.
