I know of several drivers out of the Seattle division that are home every week and 1 that has not stayed out more then 10 days at a time since starting work their over 2 years ago.

Seattle to PHX or LA and back to the NW every week. Add up the miles and you have 2400 to 3200 per week.

    knuckledragger and knighton5 Thank this.

It would be very helpful to list what division you run out of.

Portland terminal is the same- Lax or phx then back home, or SLC to LAX and then back home. If you live on the I-5 corridor, you will be home every 3-7 days depending on where you run. Ive always been told that if I go farther east than Denver, then Im on my own. It could take weeks to get back to the west side. Just my own experience, DRIVE SAFE

i'm an express driver out of phoenix. i'm out for a range of 1-3 weeks and then off for an entire week. yes, i have to slip-seat, but at least i get to be home for a longer period of time in one shot than most of the OTR company drivers get to in a single year. my dispatcher is real laid back and actually pays me for all the extra stuff. hell, i don't even have to ask for it. the extra pay is showing up as soon as i either send in the macro 2, after i send the macro 6, and most of the times have been BEFORE completing the trip.

the first 3 weeks being express, i hit over 2900 paid miles per week, and was finally more happy. he doesn't push me to go, go go, gogogogogogogo like many of the dickspatchers. it also helps that my safety guy is pretty cool, too.

despite my horrible compliance rating, they have NEVER EVER said a word about it.

I live near I-5 in Washington and am interested in Knight. They seem to be very active up here. Problem is experience, I've been driving for nearly 20 years but 19 as a local driver in Washington and Oregon. No tickets ever and my last chargeable was over 12 years ago. I have my Hazmat endorsement and my enhanced drivers license for entrance into Canada. Do you think they would be interested?

I know thats a plus to be able to enter Canada, they were looking for dedicated drivers to run IKEA up there.

Um... thanks for the info jimijam66, but I think the rules are, "No Advertising". That was straight up an ad. It looks like it was lifted right off a company website and pasted to start a post.

Anyways. I don't care what that post said. I want.. er.. NEED to hear personal experiences with these companies.

    Almost forgot to post this...

When I went to Knight's website and clicked on info for students it goes to Squire. Obviously a sister company or division of Knight. But I've never seen a "Squire" truck. Has anyone else?
