Ive been with valley for a few weeks now. Their Volvos are not leased. Valley pays cash for their trucks.Every weekend ,when ur at home, they clean ur truck inside and out and service them. They dont cut corners on their trucks. Also they only use grade 70 chains and add more chains to the load than what the gov says.Ive seen TMC loads that were unsafe with only 2 grade 56 chains on a 46,000 suicide coil. And it was more than a few trucks. Some of Valleys loads are leased out from great american. They only hire students that are the top of their class. They really have no turn around on drivers. Drivers stay , ounce hired. Its not a starter job like werner and others. Valleys not like other companies that pay more after a year and give loads to new drivers because there cents per mile is cheaper than those with more time. The only other company that comes close to valley is Knight.:biggrin_2554:

I'm also wondering what kind of transmissions that have and if there trucks max speed is at the moment I can only go 62 mph but it's really only 60. I'm currently on percent so that does not bug me so much it's been working out really well.

Just went through orientation with valley and gettin ready to meet my trainer today. As far as transmissions they are 10 speeds not sure of max speed prolly around low 60's. So far i can't complain about my decision. the more time i spent in orientation the more confident i was with my decision. I'll try to post more info when i get back this weekend.

Well I'm home for the weekend from training. Max speed on trucks is 70 newer trucks have a performance goal (15% idle) if that is met you get another 5mph. no pets. As far as pay, wish I made what my trainer made this past week.

Percentage is fine and dandy if you have an idea of their rates. Can anyone give examples say coil from middle town to michigan...what does it pay? What is their detention policy as u sit for HOURS in a lot of these steel mills.
