The companies have the right set any standards they want, as long as it applies to all.

Maybe some of these companies should do this with some of the sloths they already employ.

IMHO, this article should be read top to bottom by every wannabe on the forum. We, and I definitely include myself, are not spending enough time thinking about the physical/medical aspects of performing safely and effectively. It makes very little sense to get pumped up about this career only to discover that we are not physically capable of handling the rigorous responsibilities that drivers are faced with "outside of the cab". In addition, these responsibilities can't be set aside because it's too hot outside or it's too cold outside. If we wannabes want to prevail and attain positions in this industry, we've got to open our eyes and confront the hurdles head-on, we can't expect to go around them. I don't believe for one second that freight companies will lower standards to get warm bodies any longer. CSA 2010 will see to that! (along with a few other things).rookietrucker and pinballwizard Thank this.
