Assuming youre a responsible person that already doesnt really go out in public if youre sick with *anything*, it doesnt much matter.

But lets say you just kinda feel like crap, it does seem wise to know if its say seasonal affective disorder or actually being sick.

Is covid overblown, yes, but it IS 3x worse than the flu mortalitywise, so it isnt a bad idea to just know what you have.

Further than that, how is knowing what you have a bad idea? In our family, we test primarily because someone close to us is 65 and just got done with her last round of chemo, its very important to us to not get her sick.

 

I used to have that attitude, but now my wife has been in the hospital for over six weeks trying to recover from covid.
She got sick about a week before me and we waited too long to get tested. The virus attached to her lungs and wreaked havoc almost killing her.
When I took her in they tested me and I was positive too, but it was still early enough for me to get the infusion. I recovered about a week later.
We both were perfectly healthy with no underlying conditions before and in my opinion if we had tested her sooner she would not have had to fight for her life like she has for over six weeks now.
It’s like the old saying “until you walk a mile in my shoes”.

 

You already knew you were sick. That wasn't enough data for you to stay away from people?

 

Funny how everyone is hassling her for testing herself. Nobody made her. No mandate just her doing what she wanted. Do what you want.

 

Not necessarily. Sometimes when your just sick you distance but press on. The covid IMO its so random on who it kills or nearly kills, it’s not worth the risk of knowingly infecting parents, grandparents, or other family who are going to go visit their other parents and grandparents. If just one of those reacted in a bad way like sometimes happens, I wouldn’t forgive myself.

Also it’s none of anyone’s business but when you have a pregnant wife it’s good to know whether she’s likely to get it or does have it. What kind of extra treatment she may or may not need.

For someone that’s all about freedom, you sure seem to be concerned about if someone buys their own test or not. lol

If you aren't feeling great and want to get tested fine. It's the people that test for absolutely no reason that drive me bananas. This girl a follow on tiktok, wanted to get tested after the holidays because she had been around a bunch of people a d had traveled so she wanted to test. But she couldn't find any tests in her area. Finally she found a place she could make an appointment to get tested, IN TWO WEEKS, she she waited the 2 weeks and went to get tested and they were out again. She was mad. All the while she had no symptoms.

No tell me this, what Is the point of scheduling a test 2 weeks in advance! And testing with no symptoms and then being mad when they are out of tests. People that test for no reason are why they are out of test!

 

Lol, that's part of the whole freedom thing. Not everybody has to agree. Folks can do whatever they want and others still have the freedom to agree or disagree. It cuts both ways. Freedom is not everybody agreeing all the time on everything.

Exactly right. Which is why I found it funny he was acting as if people should not make the decision to test. Who cares what other people do.

Being harassed by contact tracers and having people in my household or that I’ve been in contact with is not something I’m interested in.
