Hey guys, so i picked up this load from a shipper in wi going to family dollar in ia. Load picked up at 10 am on friday morning delivery 200 miles away at 11:45 pm . Got to the receiver at around 8 pm . theres no one there just 2 guard shack people. The guy put my number in computer and told me load is a drop trailer while rate con clearly states live unload and does not mention drop anywhere. Told me facility will open on monday and have to wait.got his initals and story on the rate con. Called broker (yote) right away of course its friday night and they cant do anything . Called sat morning at 8 am they were waiting on customer to advice
Called at 9 am still same. Called at 10 and emailed them if not resolved in an hour load will be delivered back to shipper and they will be charged transportation fee.one of the national account manager replied the same thing contacting the customer. Emailed them one last time that i will be taking this load back to the shipper and gave them the invoice of stuff i will be charging if issue not resolved in another hour and ofcourse no reply. At this time i am hitting 15 hours since the issue started. Called them one last time and headed back to shipper . Shipper (yder) refused to take the load back . Got them to sign the bol stating seal still intact and they refused to take back the load. Emailed broker (the whole team and national manager)again stating there will be additional 200$ fee each day for storing product and after 2 days prouct will be stored at a 3pl warehouse and they will be charged accordingly and again No reply .
In this situation if they refuse to pay can i go after their bond ? . I know i have all the proof and emails will that help.
Dealing with a situation .

I would ask for a new ratecon from Broker before you do anything . When I take loads on a Friday I usually make sure it has me running through the weekend so I don't have issues like this . I had this happen once and all I could do was drop on Monday and talk with my broker , its frustrating but some times the stars and moon dont line up for a muthatrucka .

I had a situation similar to this but it was because of one skid but not a drop trailer. I finally got ahold of the receiver myself and got it unloaded. Never got paid anything extra but it would had stuck me for the weekend without making anything so I just ate it and moved on. Some are worth fighting for and others are not.
Midwest Trucker and kay_ray Thank this. -
Yeh i wish i clould do that but its a whole trailer and receiver is closed till monday and i am back home which is 15 mins away from shipper. So will see how bad they want this load.Siinman Thanks this.

I was at a receiver for about 2 days. I called the broker and informed them that I would charge storage fees (1000 per day). After unload I sent them the PODs and surprisingly, they added 750 (first day counted as layover).
Ofcourse, don't act on this until you get better info. This is just one way that it can go. -
Yeh i wasnt even getting a reply. Will see what they do or els product will be at 3pl warehouse

this is when you show them the pistol and ask if they understand what’s happening here
kay_ray Thanks this. -
That'll teach you to never do any loads with the word 'Dollar' in it.
