Well i should mention when i wanna go from direct to overdriver. You can hear the air puff but not hear a little click or clunk or what ever you will hear when its off.

Hi/lo cylinder is slow or not competing shift. Could be air psi, could be dirty cylinder bore, could be actual hi/lo synchronizer. Can't tell you more without seeing in person.
Put some wd40 in trans air lines.Astroboy Thanks this. -
Wait my bad, you said direct to OD. Not HI/Lo.
Overdrive slave valve will not stop it from moving. Just won't shift to OD.
Still might verify Hi/Lo makes a complete shift.Astroboy Thanks this. -
You know you could be right. Cause like the post said when it shut off is when it does. And it does lose air so idk if my theory is right but could it possibly activate that some how like make a vacuum when it loses air? Just a thought
-
No,
Answer my question. Does it stall the engine? -
Yes. Which ever gear it goes into it will stall. If i don't use clutch brake you can feel the gears grind
-
That makes no sense boss. But it sounds like its in 2 gears in mainbox, which will stall the engine.
-
Yea i know. Its kinda better in person where i can show you. The mechanics i been calling told me i need a new transmission or check my shifting forks. He said a set screw may came loose or something.
-
I thank one of the lock bolts between a shift fork or a shift yoke and a shaft came loose. The shaft is sliding inside of it. When there is no pressure on anything resistiance between the two allows it to shift. The next time there is some pressure on the gears and or he shifts quickly. The fork and the sliding clutch stay in that gear. Then he shifts it into another.jamespmack and Astroboy Thank this.

Between you and me sure. But his description is all over the place.cke, BoxCarKidd and Astroboy Thank this.
