Is there anyone on this thread that are not newbies and not gung ho stevens transport trainers? Also does anybody have a list of extensions for contacting the repower team, i know of a few who i work with all the time...but there is always room for more service miles.

hello all. as a former Stevens instuctor, otr trainer, and orientation trainer (red shirt), I would be happy to share any knowledge and advice to Stevens drivers and students. I started at Stevens with no experience and applied what I learned and just kept advancing. great company to start with. Today I am an o/o hauling Broadway shows and concerts. It isn't always easy, but if you stick with it you may find you love it. good luck to all and feel free to ask questions.

You must have at leat 7500 miles before you come off the first phase of training, and the way this trainer is running his truck, you will NEVER get the miles required. Either he needs to loosen up and let you drive, or you need a new trainer.

yes there are, but repowers are not always the best option. Unless you like never sleeping, running your a s s off because some lazy a s s driver over slept, or dispatch is playing favorites again.

You can legally drive so many miles and hours a week, why kill yourself with repowers?

lol....known fact...you get more miles from service miles...i rest when i'm home....while i'm out here i make as much money as i can...and if your a lease driver...you lose money everytime you hit a dock. Service miles is the quickest, easiest, and less stressful way to make great money in this business....even at a low paying company...and i personally like running my ### off....but i'm young and ambitious, most stevens employees are middle aged and lazy...hence why so many guys need so many repowers....

That is what makes life so much fun, you have your idea of what it takes to make money, and I have mine, and they are different. I have to sit, mandatory law and all. might as well do it at a dock, and get paid for it too!!!! Detention pay, extra stop pay, from all you young gung ho truckers that don't realize how much more money you can make, and never turn a mile.

I am past middle aged, and far from lazy, I just work smart, not hard. Most repowers are from younger drivers who stay up all night, and then oversleep, and can not make their delivery, or don't know how to manage time, and make the delivery, or spend all day playing video games, and forget to do their job.....

Be careful with your statements, as you may just have to eat your own words.

How many miles do you have to run to make $35.00? Detention Pay, $25/hour, can't make that driving for Stevens.

Having to rush to make a delivery because someone else could not, is stressful for me. Planning out my runs, and running it my way, is the less stressful way for me.

Ok first off....you are not collecting a whole lot of money off of what your claiming.... that is such a high cost to stevens to pay you while you sit and do nothing...and if your docking up all the time, you are using time on line 4 that could've been driving...and as for eating my words...lol...i make great money, and i can guarantee if your solo, then i guarantee i make more money on company side than you will alliance (in the pocket of course). And i have to sit all night too...i'm also aware that i can only run 70 hours a week...but the key to making real money...is blast through all of your hours with the highest mileage possible, as quickly as possible...take a 34 and do it again...thats trucking...basing your pay off of detention pay (which stevens rarely pays, and walmart and most places get you out quick enough so they don't get charged) is really nonsense and makes me wonder how your even able to function with a lease and still make the money your claiming. Here's something you can remember, when you attempt to talk down to someone....at least make sure its someone that can't call you on your bull s h i t. from your last post....seems like your full of it :) and btw genius, your hourly rate is only $20 an hour when recievers take too long...not 25...

So I'm getting a few more miles daily now but I wish it were more. But that might just be me. I got my NE dock bumps and a mountain pass done, so one more mtn pass and about 4,000 miles to go in about three weeks. Being on the road shows you how much the school does't train you! I learned a lot of technical stuff in school but we really didn't get enough backing time! Naturally we learned on 10speeds and I got an 8speed lol Anyway still sure I'm going to love the job. My trip plans can get done before we deliver the load now! lol Going along the Blue Ridge mtns now heading SW to Texas with 38,880 lbs of cookies. Got two bags of Chips Ahoy at the shack! Be nice out there and in here and don't make messes in the crappers! Peace out for now!
