You have some options. If you want to keep two tanks, have you considered the square 80’s?. Have never measured one, they look fairly short. Maybe if properly mounted, you could put a 48 box on both sides. Thinking about it, that could actually look good.
When I had the cascadia and a western 48 flat, I could put 51.5 on the deck, put me right at 79.900. In truth it was more problems than it was worth. Do it once at a shipper and your never going to see less, then they don’t want to pay for it.cke, PoleCrusher, Ruthless and 5 others Thank this. -
I just don't want to haggle down on the 48k loads and have some wiggle room. I've loaded soooooo many loads that were supposed to be 45/46k and ended up being 49k or so. In fact, the one I have on now ended up being like 49.3k or so. I had to go find a scale, then come back and ustrap, Unload the whole top layer, then restrap. A good waste of about 4.5 hours. It would be nice to have some wiggle room. Not necessarily to advertise it at this point though. My to do list is getting smaller though. So I'm gonna put on the digital weigh right this year I think. My scales are great for telling me I'm not over axle, but lousy at over gross.....lol. I'm not gonna do anything until after the move. Might make alot of freight changes then too. Honestly, might not carry my 8fters anymore if I'm not in lumber land.
That saves some weight right there. It would be nice to put on a side kit and do the Midwest steel haul thing.....who knows. Maybe pickup a hopper bottom aswell. We'll see.

Hammer down to Coburg, OR.
This is one of my favorite places for a pic with a great backdrop. Usually I’m rolling through here after sun down but got lucky today.Attached Files:

Agreed, however, it would be foolish not to be prepared. Too many guys live in the now and don't prepare for what's ahead. This is bad business.......imo.D.Tibbitt, Dadetrucking305, cke and 3 others Thank this.
