Your favorite company

The best company for me was Carolina Trailways #2 Would have been Johnson Motor Lines #3 Overnite Transportation All 3 are now history. Worse companies? ain't enough space here. LOL

Old Dominion Freight Lines. Been here 8 1/2 years and should have came over from day one of my 24 years driving.

 

Um,,let's see, favorite company,,,out of maybe 20,,let's see,,,nope, doesn't exist. I've had good jobs, but they all had something that pixxed me off, and why I moved on. I suppose my union bread job for Brownberry( now Bimbo,,,snicker, what a stupid name) was the best theoretically, had it all, but it was the crybaby drivers that killed it.

 

What do you like about the job?

 

100% drop/hook at terminals or meet points, paid for all drops, hooks and fueling. Laid back atmosphere, good equipment and runs are bid out on seniority. The pay is awesome.

 

Is it considered linehaul? How many years do you have to work there usually before you can get a daytime run?

 

Yes I run linehaul and how long it takes to get a day time bid varies from terminal to terminal.

 

I've been driving since '09 and have driven for 4 different companies. I've been at Old Dominion for just under a year. OD is by far the best company I have worked for. Not just in trucking either. The culture is unbeatable. Everyone is always smiling and happy to be working there. The pay and benefits are great. Only wish I would have came to OD 10 years ago.
