So how does this work on a 2290 I always pay 550 for gvw 75k or more so in all reality I could add my axle up have it under 55k and pay nothing on my 2290

Yes if you never gross over 55K total truck and trailer combined.

Actually you could run 20k without w permit if you can get it up there. I've got a picker that runs 19980 on the steer full of fuel I have never had to permit it. 20k is most states single axle limit unfortunately most OTR trucks are way too long to get much over 12k up front.

I agree sir, I jus purchased a 2009 Kenworth T 300 box truck, 28.5 ft bed with a lift gate, rated at 52k and the way it looks as I keep reading response, the sky is the limit for us, up to 80k lbs, although it is very unlikely anybody will be hauling anywhere near 80k lbs of anything in a 28.5 ft box, so I think we good bro! ✊

55k is the ideal limit for 28.5 ft box with lift gate, I wouldn't go over that at all..

Would be all fine and dandy until you go in to register it. Registration purposes all the weight goes on the truck.
