That's what I always do....

Hey, thanks for all the replies.
I think my gut was right then for sure, but you always have that other feeling saying you should check it out more to.
The truck is a 1999. By the time its paid off I figured it would be over a million miles. So I am off to get a real job finally I guess, going for FAST card interview tomorrow.
Thanks again. -
Good choice! Whats a Fast Card interview?

A cow is a cow, whether it is brown or black and white.
And this lease deal - well, probably not a cow, sounds more like a "pig in a poke." I think you are right in passing this one by. -
The FAST Card gives you expedited access to and from Canada (theoretically). You can use it instead of a passport. A lot of the companies here in Michigan are looking for people with one. Getting one goes something like this.
1. Give them a whole bunch of personal information.
2. Pay them (Department of Homeland Security) $50 dollars for there trouble.
3. Do a face to face interview.
Hopefully I'll have one at the end of all that.Big John Thanks this. -
That truck you described sounds like an ex Wal Mart truck. ( not necessarly bad). You shouldn't be charged anything for trailer maintainence/insurance etc. I paid $347 a month for full insurance on my new '07 power unit in '07/'08, but, I had/have an excellant driving record. This deal is tilted in the other guy's favor. As a driver for his company, you're in good shape. If you become a business partner, you will see a different side of him.

I think someone might have already mention it before but the best thing to do I think is to buy truck and get your own authority and hope for the best. Two things that will most likely put you under is hauling cheap freight and breakdowns. If you can`t do some of your maintence your self you better be learning pretty quick. The money you save will help when the major problems come a long and if you are not established pretty good when a engine or transmission goes you might not stay a float. Hauling cheap freight will just ware your equipment out and you will have nothing to show for it. I am going to try one or two of my trucks with JB Hunt pulling their trailers, I hope that quote don`t come back to haunt me. I do produce loads and as everyone knows most produce especially in Florida got froze out. So this has got me to looking at other options as of now.

Where can I find a ex Walmart truck at that price? 10 to 12 grand?
