FMCSA’s Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations set the baseline for training requirements for entry-level drivers.

• Obtain a Class A or Class B CDL for the first time;
• Upgrade an existing Class B CDL to a Class A CDL; or.
• Obtain a school bus (S), passenger (P), or hazardous materials (H) endorsement for the first time.

Some cdl schools have refresher courses.
Also, think about attending a trucking company cdl school.

 

CDL expire? What does that mean? Once it is obtained, it is with you, unless you refuse to keep it by being lazy to provide DMV with intrastate.

 

You are going to have to find a carrier that will train you. Some of the information @Chinatown posted is a start. Stop worrying about job gaps. Just list what you have. Don't make this process harder than it need be.
