The fuel card will work anywhere that accepts EFS. If you aren't sure exactly how much rope you have, I would have your fuel updated. Make sure to point out that the route is shorter than with the Nowata fuel stop. You will probably fuel at Joplin, Big Cabin, or Tulsa after the update, and with the shorter route, may even score some brownie points.

They are probably routing you on less toll road.

Well that’s what I thought. But the route with all the tolls matches exactly with my load miles on my load sheet. But the fuel stop is way off. So i didn’t know what or how to make heads or tails out of that.

Didn't thinknof that. I avoid the turnpike, unless time is tight as a matter of routine. Hell, I avoid interstates in general, when I can. I have run from San Diego to Columbus, NE almost entirely on US and state highways.

Same. I come from end dumping so staying off the big road was the name of the game.

You can simply let your DM know and let them know the route you're taking and the fuel stop you request, usually they will be able to change it for you. Also, if you skip a fuel stop once you are empty and get your next dispatch the fuel solution program will automatically kick out your next fuel stop. So if you don't like your fuel stop but you know you have the fuel to make it where you are going sometimes it's just easier to skip it and see what the next one is it kicks out. After a while you can pretty much figure it out. You can always skip a fuel stop if you have the fuel to make it where you are going, you just can't add one on your own without contacting your DM to change it

Hey guys I think I got one for ya. I did my Tulsa run today from KC. Sent in my empty message and waited. About 15 minutes I called my DM and say “hey I’m empty in Tulsa what’s the plan?” He chuckles and says “yea.. if you’re in Tulsa we got problems”. :-| Well then we got problems. Apparently when he was doin my preplan yesterday for today, he scrolled too far, and assigned me a Tulsa load. When he was wanting to assign me a Topeka load. I apologized and said man I just thought one of the Tulsa guys (KC has 3 that just turn Tulsa everyday) was off and I was covering, or there was an extra load that needed down there I didn’t think twice about getting that load assignment. In true FCC form he assured me in no way was it my fault and made the comment “at least I know you’re loyal. You’ll go anywhere I send without question!”. No harm done there was an Omaha bound trailer at the Tulsa drop lot I brought up to KC. Thanks to @BigR and @zodiacflyer for answering my fuel questions. He said he didn’t know why that fuel stop would show up and sent me a fuel solution for the QT truck stop right there at the exit. So I filled up by little day cab tanks and beat feet back to Bright Lights. Off the rest of the week for a destination wedding. Apparently we are busy busy. The KC drop lot is packed.
