Good luck to you Kondia and welcome to the forum! First hand reports are very valuable to us wannabes. When you get time, could you post about your experiences? I know I would appreciate it!

finished qualification day with no problems. Did a in depth pre trip and then a road test and then I had to do an alley dock between 2 trailers. Back it right in with no pull ups. We also had to do a physical test, climbing into a trailer, carrying a basket with weights, squatting down under a trailer. They check your heart rate and blood pressure after every event. After all of that they sent us down town to get a drug test done. I have to say from my experience so far that this is a really good company. It seems like they really care about their drivers. Some more paper work tommorrow and weds and hopefully will be on the road with a trainer by thursday
JustSonny Thanks this. -
My husband also completed qualification day with no problems. He said he had to study the 1st 5 chapters of basically a policy and procedures manual for first day of orientation. He seems very positive and really likes how things are going.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
My husband was in Gary today for a few hours waiting for a trailer to come in for a relay (he's on his way Eastward...to NYC...I'm sure the driver that dropped it was heartbroken not to go there, for some reason they think my husband enjoys it, which he doesn't lol). I'll have to ask if he saw the training class while he was there.

Moetou what terminal is your husband at?
-
Did he happen to pick up a bridge beam for the new Willis St bridge?
-
Not unless the beam went into a dry van which I'm kinda doubting

I think your hubby picked a good outfit to go with.I drove for Roehl for a time before I retired. I found them to be a very good company, and if I ever go back on the road again it will be with Roehl.Of course now,I was an experienced driver when I hired on with Roehl, and I worked on their 7 on 7 off program.I did have a couple of minor issues with them, but they were taken care of by talking with my fleet mgr. on the phone.Tell your hubby, good luck and keep on truckin.
