Got the top end put back together and adjusted everything. Started putting things back together as well. Like i said, im still waiting for air compressor from cat under warranty. But i wont need that or ANtifreeze in the system to start truck tomorrow. I always clean up things and repaint when tearing down so i thought id share a picture or 2 from when i finished up today coverside.jpg vcover.jpeg

Been down your road on a C13 before. Oil line broke on that one and locked up compressor. If you buy a bendix compressor, gear is on it and about 2 bills cheaper. Looking good. I always like the C-12. Keep valves adjusted and they seem to last.

Got it all back together together. Minus the air compressor of course. Started up right up after the initial hiccup becuase of air in system. Also i checked for oil flow at the compressor oil feed and the psi. Everything checked out ok. I have a bit of an OCD problem every time i do a big job. I always triple check everything and then once buttoned up to the point of no return, i feel like i missed something or forgot something. Then it eats at me. Oh well. Anyhow, heres video of first start.

You aren't the only one that has that problem. At the end of the day I run back through what I have done and I always doubt myself on something. Nothing I have ever went back and checked has been left undone but it is an awful feeling regardless.

So you never woke up at 3 am and wanted to go to the shop. Could not get back to sleep but go in at regular time. Checked out what ever it was and it is fine. No I never did that.
Simple rules I try to follow. Get all the bolts started in an assembly before tightening any, then evenly. In and tight or or not in at all. Lay everything out in the order it came off and go back the same way. Interruptions still screw me up at times.

spsauerland, Don379 and Goodysnap Thank this.
