Lets see:
pros: 1. Less accidents well it can't be much worst.
2. No more pay raises: in fact reduced labor and equipment costs IE bells and whistles.
CONS: 1. Less new driver reimbursement profit for the company.
2.More liability to the company ( no driver ). NOTE: set legal on this! -
I can't understand why any driver would work for a company that is telling them it's goal is to put them out of a job, permanently.
WildTiger1990, Deadwood, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
How does that autonomous truck know where the empty parking spot is at the truck stop. The safety coordinator(driver) has to follow HOS even tho he/she aren't actually driving.

I'm just waiting to see how well it'll handle the winter. I can just see it dragging a trailer through an overplowed ditch and flopping itself over.
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
How will we tell that from normal Swift activity?
Mike250rs, WildTiger1990, D.Tibbitt and 4 others Thank this. -
first stage is southern non snow states. Those displaced drivers will go north for jobs.
basically they want to creat a domino effect and drive down labor costs.
it will work. -
With how much crying and whining I see on this site about winter driving I have my doubts. Might get a few folks that'll do it but I bet the majority won't.

While I understand AI is coming along quickly I just don't think it is ready for the millions of decisions a driver makes every day.
Is that water or ice on the road?
Is it a person or venison running across the road?
Can I squeeze under that bridge that says 13.4 in Chicago?
I understand they are coming and I don't care because I will be 65 in a couple years.
