Owner operator moving to Orlando area.

Parking rents there expensive?

 

For my situation no. Honestly I got it made on the parking. But I was told by a experienced driver to call local trucking companies around and see if you can park there. I have one 4 mins from my house and the owner is my neighbor. But its a very tiny town.

If you have a reefer, and you're not afraid to knock on doors, you'll find plenty of work going out of State and then use load boards to get back home. I know guys making a good living doing it. You've got to be willing to knock on doors though. Start here:

Florida is dead. usually after dropping off in South Florida I always drive up to Georgia or South Carolina for a load....northern Florida has watermelon loads in the summer

 

Hey do you think it's worth it to get my own authority pulling a flatbed out of the Orlando area?

 

When would people learn to live their lives without someone telling them what to do? It is your right to do research and decide what is better for your own you yourself. I did deliver there with step, I did find loads out, it was hard, yet doable. Just spend some time on the Google, Load Boards, DuckDuckGo, whatever. It is like eat the fish and no bones wish.

 

Worth it ? Im not sure. Everybody has different opinions of what is worth it. I have never been to florida with my flatbed and its not by accident, thats all im gonna say.
