Looks like they are breakin ya in right. Kent and Rome are among the tightest docks we deal with routinely.

    Well, that was interesting.

Second attempt to deliver this rescued load of tires. They assign me a door and I set up and go open the doors before bumping the dock.

I walk back to open the doors and felt a bit of tension on the first one almost like a bunch of tires were leaning back on the door.

yup, as I cautiously open the door, it suddenly POPS and springs open with a bit of energy behind it.

I push against the door but as all the tires are “tied” together with how they are stacked in there, the second door kept the whole final stack of tires from falling out the back end.

Had to bump the dock with only one door open so they could manually unload that leaning stack. Well, I guess they technically manually unload all the tires.

It was a bit of a jump start to my day.

It’s a commercial bakery. I can’t think of the name at the moment. All three areas can feel a tad tight especially if they are full of trailers. And one light pole that taunts me when leaving the empty trailer area. It’s obviously been tapped a few times by other drivers leaving the property.

It’s not too bad once you’ve been there a couple times but it’s a bit tight on elbow room to maneuver.

My first time down there my GPS took me through what turned out to be downtown. That was interesting too. I quickly learned to go around the town when pulling grain into that bakery.

Made it from Pratt KS, to Topeka. Wind almost blew me into a ditch West of Wichita, and the turnpike was a #### show. My windshield was icing up if I went much over 35. Not that the visibility was spectacular to begin with. Dropped off some Cheap Chinese Tools at a store location, and after fighting to get out from under the load, grabbing the empty, almost getting stuck at three stoplights and taking an off ramp in a skid, I called it a day. Playing in that garbage with an empty trailer just didn't sound fun.

You’re absolutely right. I tried everything to keep my windshield clear. Keepin it cold, using defrost with the visor down to try and “trap” the heat. It was useless. And like you said the snow was coming down so hard plus the wind you couldn’t see anything anyway. I unloaded in Lees Summit this morning and it was thundering. I got empty and creeped back and hung it up. There was more loads to do but no plows were out and the interstates were terrible I wasn’t chancing the side roads, especially after getting unloaded. They wanted that stuff today they’ll want it even more tomorrow. Glad you made it through unscathed.

I’m on the east coast starting home time a day early. So I’m doing better than you… lol

No wonder my DM said I wasn’t missing anything out west when I confirmed that I was heading home after todays live unload.
