Overtime pay is not required by law. Trucking has an exemption from the law that applies to all other hourly employees. But many companies choose, or their contract requires, to pay drivers OT wages for OT work. It's pretty normal for fuel haulers to get OT pay.
-
Pay varies greatly depending on what area of the country you live in and which company you work for. Be prepared to start by working night shift until someone one day shift retires.
-
That's good advice. If you have to wait for someone to retire in order to move up that's actually a good thing. It means people stay there and if they stay until they retire it's usually the sign of a good outfit.
Beware the ones that advertise "We're always hiring". There's usually a bad reason or a bunch of bad reasons for that.tscottme Thanks this. -
