Need to voice my perspective...am in glass division.....been on since early June, 2008, my last few weeks with Maverick...1200 miles, 1400 miles, and this week-1700 miles, am home on a Wednesday nite, requested home time for Friday of this week, will see if I get a short run tomorrow, if not, home since being out week b-4 Christmas. My biggest gripe is they keep hiring drivers, to fill empty trucks(?) and I inch along with crappy miles each week. I am sent to load, I send in an ETA, and lo & behold, I empty out, & I get a qual-com message--Dispatch is out to lunch! WTF! DUH! I sent in an ETA, they know what area I'm in, one would think they'd work on a load for you based on your ETA. This happens on a regular basis for me, get few preplans, and end up sitting on side of road with 4-ways on waiting for a move. It just quirks me they are still hiring, when they can't find loads/pre-plans for a current driver, whether glass or back-hauls...![]()

This is the reason I back peddled from their job offer.... -
I just went through the Maverick orientation and training the week before Christmas and have been out on the road with them for 3 weeks now. If you have any questions just ask.

Would you recommend them? -
I'm not sure. I went to CDI (AKA TDI) in Oxford, AL. I think your school probably just has meet their standards and you have to live in their hiring area. Good Luck!

They use to not require a school. All you needed was a CDL. If you did not have recent OTR or needed flat bed training they sent you out with a trainer.

I thought I saw a Punkin truck pulling a flat.......it turned out to be Maverick! Is that thei special color for the glass haulers?
ironhand Thanks this. -
