Do you own a company with multiple employees, all with various levels of cards set up with varying limits (amounts) and restrictions (allowable product codes)?
Some banks are more fraud sensitive than others. Many give customers options as to where the lines are drawn before an authorization request must be verified via a second channel of communication, such as a proper response to a text message. Such dual channel verification is becoming more and more the norm. Just because the issuers of your cards don't employ such anti-fraud measures on your cards does not mean that most current card issuers don't at least offer them as an option. In many cases, they require them if the customer wants to do business using their card.
When you are a victim of extortion....

Why did you quote me to debate over nothing? Do you have nothing better to do? Do you live to argue over frivolous information? Do you own a business at all? Come back and tell me how they're all run exactly the same when you start filling out a Schedule C or begin paying yourself in dividends. I don't appreciate being distracted from more enjoyable things here on TTR so I'll be adding you to my ignore list. Have a good day.

Its not extortion at all, in fact you would be guilty of "theft of service." It sucks to be the driver in that situation but look at it this way, that mechanic happened to have the hard part you needed and the knowledge/tools to get it installed. You/Your company agreed to his service and equipment and then didnt pay. I've been on both sides and it does suck, but you have to expect to pay the man doing the work. If you aren't from around there then an IOU isn't going to cut it.

Lulz, that right there is a wee bit of a problem
You came here and wanted confirmation bias, and you just dont like hearing people disagree, mlc was NOT the right guy to accuse of "not being a mechanic", something you would know if you read his post or knew of him on the forumMadScientist and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -

BTW ...OP.... if you are a victim of extortion ..
Then the extortion was committed by the company you work for because they extorted you into paying the repair bill

If you take your truck to a non company shop do you get to drive it away without paying after it’s fixed ? Also if it stays for a bit completely fixed do shops charge a storage fee?
