Most carriers do not allow alcohol in the truck period. Its just not a good idea to drink when you are responsible for you rig 24x7.That being said I mind my own business

You know how many times guys are polishing wheels in the back row and having some cold ones. Those are not the people anyone needs to be concerned about.
Rugerfan, Bean Jr., Rubber duck kw and 1 other person Thank this. -
I will keep quiet, I'm not law enforcement.
Bean Jr. and jamespmack Thank this. -
The rule is 8 hours, if you've been drinking, you can't drive.
The rest of that is semantics. We all break the law every day, every time we exceed the speed limit. We all do it. Don't pretend to be Hank Hill.
We don't get in trouble every day even though we just do what we want on the road like exceed the limit, drive without shoes on, occasionally drift into other lanes, etc etc
Don't act like a fool. You'll be fine.

That said, I have noticed a big difference between starter trucking companies, and other companies that only hire experienced drivers, like the company I drive for right now.
The company I drive for right now couldn't care less. The company I started and learned with would send you home if they learned about alcohol consumption.
