If the options given above somehow don't pan out, you could try Wiley Sanders--located in Troy, AL:
Entry Level Drivers | Truck Driving School Graduate | Less Than 6 Months | CDL | Wiley Sanders | Troy, Alabama
There, a new driver is paired up with a trainer for 10 WEEKS (or so they say). That's obviously not as impressive as 1 year--but it's much more generous than many other company training programs.
I personally have no experience with them (and am not affiliated with them in any way), but I do see their trucks a fair amount since they're almost in my back yard (so to speak).
Anyway, before you invest--investigate.

He needs OTR training and experience pulling a Class A 53' trailer around.
We both drive Class B straight trucks locally. He wants to move closer to Selma (60 miles away from Montgomery). His drive to work is too long now. A company he wants to work for near his home wants at least 6 Months OTR experience. Dump trailer company.
Most companies (a lot of LTLs) have the CDL training school for newbies but NOT for us that already have a CDL A with NO experience pulling a Class A trailer.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Is he interested in any companies posted on this thread?
