I give 2 weeks notice.
After I clean out the truck and my car
Is sitting outside the gate.
They never asked me once to finish those 2 weeks. -
Hey jmarc still sounds like your dead set on TMC? Keep looking in your area! Always the best idea to get CDL on your own dime if possible! Sounds like you’ve been on the fence for a year now.. don’t rush the process keep calling Companies! China is absolutely correct when it says 1 year experience required call anyway Don’t let that stop you! You might be surprised when they say we’ll consider you!

I'm not dead set, but I was kinda hopeful to drive with them. As far as not contacting my current employer, I told them I had no problem with them contacting them, but I wanted them to allow me to give my notice first, whether it be two weeks or whatever because my employer still is not aware of my intention of leaving and I'd rather they heard it from me than some recruiter.
I can only speculate as to what their reasoning was. My credit is fine, my driving record is clean, I have no criminal history, I have a recent medical card. One of my past employers went out of business and I was paid under the table, so it wouldn't have been verifiable work experience but that job was not in the trucking industry, and that was almost 2 years ago.
I think getting my CDL through community college is probably the better move anyway, just a bit of a bummer to be turned down. With community I'll get all of the endorsements including manual, and they give you a full 40 hours behind the wheel.Val_Caldera, rda2580 and Chinatown Thank this. -
Don't let that shiny black paint and chrome at TMC mesmerize you.

Lol
Their trucks are all show and no go. My coworker told me he would avoid terminals because they would inspect the truck with a fine toothed comb and red tag it if it wasn't perfectly clean.
MidwestResident and rda2580 Thank this. -
Sounds like a good reason not to drive with them. I've read plenty on here to not have an interest in them. Where are you located at?
Here is a smaller company if they hire from your area. Mansur trucking Janesville WI. -
I'm located in southwestern PA. PGT is local to me. I haven't heard enough about them to know if they are decent or not.Goldenfan Thanks this.
