Its been a year since the install, and I have had zero problems with it. About 100,000 miles on it now so its just getting broke in. It does grab quicker then an eaton, and when I say grab I mean that there is no slip at all. So it can make you look like a rookie at times.

Great customer service, lighter weight, easier install, higher torque rating and cheaper then an eaton. I think its a no brainer to go with a lipe. But that's just my opinion.

I'm not concerned about looking like a rookie.... I do that already!

You say easier to install... I thought you had a mechanic doing that for you. How long did it take to install? Did your get a 1 piece brake or a 2 piece?

I'm going by what he said about the install. It's lighter and can install in two pieces. My guy is not the fastest guy on work, so to put a time frame on it would not benefit you. My truck was down for a week. Alot of other stuff was fixed, or when i was there "piddled" around with, but it was a slow work period for both of us. A friend of mine just put the same clutch in over a weekend. But he had an extra flyplate lying around that was resurfaced already. I went with a 1 piece brake. I'm not sure which one is better, the lipe guy could tell you the difference. Hindsight says the two piece can be replaced alot easier than a 1 piece if anything happens. If you haven't talked to Lipe. Call them up, the guy I talked to was more then willing to tell you about the differences between the brands out there.

    reed,

where do you want me to start?

1 quality, eaton uses cheaper disc steel...which causes the spring "eyebrow" to crack, causing the spring to fall out...which is a death blow to a clutch

    2. 2 year unlimited mileage warrenty, if something breaks in that clutch that is the factorys fault (workmanship) its replaced with a new one (not a rebuild)

3 easier to adjust, adjusting nuts are on the neck of the throwout bearing meaning you dont have to bump the starter to get the nut to the bottom

4 easier to install.... piece by piece instillation

    5. lipe just introduced a 2400 ft lb torque clutch...something else that other clutch makers dont have

    6. if you pull lipes can be modified to make more than one pass, clamp loads can be pushed in upwards of 6000 lbs (no warrenty implied)

    7. better customer service......they just dont say you left leg tore it up...have a nice day...they will work with you.....

    8. all number cross with spicer numbers so theres no mixup
