Prime- only newbies sing the praises 2

What statistic? For the best part of the 16 years I have been doing this most drivers only last 3 to 6 months. I wouldn't have stayed past three weeks myself except I got a dedicated local gig because I lived out in the boonies by a plant that they had a 2 truck contract with. Like a driver told me who was on his second round with the company (Builders Transport) "it's fun the first six weeks and pretty well sucks after that". What we went through in training and driving makes today's situation look like a walk in the park and the driver retention rates have not improved a bit and that tells me that for every gain that is made in driver comfort, communications et... is negated by greedy company policies.
So Prime has come up with some magic formula to make it a happy, lala, easy job all of a sudden with bunch of happy go lucky drivers or is it the same it has always been with the six week wonders going around dropping the rose petals in front of all who will listen?
Contrary to the advertising, these companies don't want smart people who have enough sense or enough options to come to the forums and do their research so the answer is no. They don't want to do it. End of story. If they think I am wrong by all means they can start a thread or blog AFTER about three months and let us know how they do.

 

Been with Prime for nearly 3 years now, and I'm still doing well, enjoying the ride. So from my perspective, your account doesn't add up - but I didn't take your ride either. If you drove for Prime as little as 5 years ago, I don't think you'd recognize the company now - certainly not if you drove for them in the 90's. I think that is pretty much the same industry-wide, considering how much its changed - from what I'm told.

There are a group of new drivers posting about their experiences now, so we'll see how their experience stacks up to my experience and U2s experience. As you implied... time will tell.

 

I still am amazed at how many people on this forum can not let go of a bad experience that they had! I know you all say that you are just trying to keep someone from making a bad mistake. I am not calling anyone a liar, but I think it goes deeper than that.
I think alot of you are just in general unhappy people and this is your way to vent and take it out on other people. If you kick your dog it will bite you. If you beat your wife, you will go to jail...so the safe place is here...lets just keep attacking and attacking until I feel good about myself.
The only person you are hurting is yourself! Find some peace!

 

OK; I have a question then. Why do I speak highly of some companies I been with and poorly of others? I have never been laid off or fired. So I do not have any need to retaliate with any co.
