Does anyone know of a company that offers a lease purchase that is not a total scam?

Lol. That is technically true. They spell everything out in their lease agreements that you have to have a lawyer read for you. I just have heard of too many people getting involved in a L/P program only to find out it is almost literally setup to make you fail .

NEVER lease from the company that controls your freight.

A few company's have programs they do not control.
They send you to a dealer and you lease from the dealer, you get a cheaper down payment due to having an agreement with the company you are coming from.
The good part is though, you can change company's at any time with this type of lease. You are not stuck with one company.

Or the best thing to do right now is to save a little money and buy a truck. The prices are so low that the payments are low. Make sure you have a good 10k in the bank when you start though. You will need it to get rolling and to save your rear if you have a breakdown issue.
It is just a cushion, you most likely will not spend it. But it is your safety net. Whatever you use from it you need to put back asap.
With a moderate down payment you can find a good 2006-2007 truck, with decent miles and only have a payment of about 1000 a month, and own it in 3 years.
With a better down payment you can get that payment the same on a 2 year loan.
That is always the best way. You can depreciate it out totally over 2 years on taxes, and it is about the same deduction as if you leased.

A while back, someone mentioned Hill Bros, as having a decent L/P.

Neither are "payday loans." But would you pay me back $500 next week if I lent you $100 today?
