Most people in Dallas don't see anything until after they run over it.

You got that right brother! Two times this week I have sat there once for 4 hours once for two hours, the second time after sitting there for two hours they had me bobtail to Sanger to find an empty to turn around and come back to Lancaster to pick up a Pepsi load. Back and forth across Dallas three times in one day! Might as well be a local guy LOL

Yeah brother, it should say so on your additional info message you get with your dispatch. But there is 24/7 access. I think I've only delivered loads there once or twice maybe, and I think I had them sign. I would check with night dispatch just to be sure. But if not you can definitely go in there and park for the night, there is no gate

Wish I could be a better help to you, I usually pick up loads there not deliver. Night dispatch should be able to find out whether or not you need a signature though

Glad to see you posting. As mentioned, thought we lost you. Just running hard I see. Glad things are clicking for you here.

I was just at GI Overhead a few days ago grabbing an MT trailer as Aurora was out of trailers. Our paths came close to crossing.

    keep them wheels turning!!!

There are several good benefits to running nights for sure. Enjoyed when I had to run nights but after a several nights my body starts to protest and my better half tells me I get grumpy… LOL … But ya, if you can run nights it’s got its advantages. Especially finding parking after everyone rolls out for the day shift.

So I haven’t applauded FCC on here lately (ya, they be slacking… lol… just kidding) but the other day they again impressed me or rather my DM did.

So they are building out another Mars lane from KC to STL to Indy (Clayton) and are in the process of hiring day drivers to divide up the run into two sections. First from KC to STL then return and another day driver will grab it in STL and deliver in Indiana then return.

    Rise, Repeat.

So my DM knows my 84 year old mother lives in East Central Illinois and I take a day of home time (glorified 34) there every month and have been grabbing any drive by opportunities as they arise. Like I did this last weekend. (She recently took a fall and is in rehab for PT/OT/etc)

So anyway, they have this issue of needing a few drivers to cover this new build out until they hire a few more day drivers. So he pops up and says he “knows a guy”… and called me to tell me the situation.

So for the next three weeks I’ll be running local MO/IL/IN and back during the weeks and taking the weekends off to visit/help mom and deal with making plans if she doesn’t fully recover as hoped.

So anyway, ya, they just needed a warm body, er, volunteer, in the seat while they find a few new hires to take it over but it was the personal aspect that impressed me. It quickly became a Win/Win because my DM knew my situation and was able to quickly match me up as part of the solution.

Loads get covered while Recruiting works to fill the void, and a driver gets to help an aging parent during a difficult time.

    Win/Win/Win

    Nice Job FCC!!!

so ya, if you know any Drivers in the STL area that might want a “home at night” gig, let them know FCC is looking.

    stay safe
