I will keep buying filets and other beef as well as pork (even though the Chinese own at least one of the big pork processors).

Most people do not understand the cost and risk associated with cattle production.

I don’t and have never claimed to, but I am thankful for what they do.

Some people don’t understand how intertwined some parts of the economy actually are.

    Following up on my quest.
I called another local branch of the DMV. They were clueless. Their comment was “we don’t do CDL at this branch”. So…I called the special CDL number for the DMV in Nashville. After being on hold for 25 mins, my call was answered by a polite lady. When I posed my questions to her, she told me that she thought the longest they would honor an expired CDL was 5 years. When I asked about the FMCSA website, she responded that she did not know how that applied.

After that comment she did provide me with another phone number that goes directly to a single person who she said may be able to help me out.

Today I called the new number and was connected to a very helpful gentleman. When I explained my circumstances to him, he pulled up my TN driver license info. When I surrendered my Ohio license, there were no comments other than I surrendered a Class A license but there were no notes about its validity or expiration date.

He then directed me to contact the Ohio BMV to secure a copy of my license history. Assuming that report indicates my license was valid and unexpired, then I will probably be relieved from the new training requirements.

I have contacted the Ohio BMV and tomorrow I am mailing off the required form and a check to pay for my Ohio license history. Now I will wait for snail mail to deliver the form and $ to Ohio.

Through all of this, I was able to confirm that TN will re-issue a CDL within 5 years of it being surrendered or expired.

This has been an interesting ordeal. I do know that if I am able to regain my CDL, then I will hold onto it as long as my health allows me to.

6 or 7 years ago I about went to jail over this— one was laid over on 93 just south of Twin Falls, ID due to an idiot that ran a stop sign — lived about 3/4 mile from it and heard the crash, hauled butt down to see what had happened, saw the driver had made it out and was trying to help a bunch of live ones that were crawling out, went back home and saddled up— got back to the scene about the time a couple others showed up horseback and got all of them off the highway and milling in a field— state bull showed up and told us they didn’t need any help — words were exchanged and the SOB drew down on us — his boss showed up and kinda defused the situation, told us to take the survivors to a feed yard nearby and they would take it from there. Found out later that had we not done what we did, they would have killed all of them as a matter of policy. Makes you wonder what kind of AH makes the policy.

Any particular reason or just personal preference? The guy I’m going to pull for only uses Wilson’s, and I see a lot of Wilson’s on the road. It trying to argue, just curious!!

No argument everybody has their own opinion
I don't like the gates or the gate latches on Wilson's that very important to me it can get you hurt in a heartbeat and Wilson's are known for the king pin plate corroding badly around the edges and it's a costly issue to fix
There alot of Wilson’s around me I just have always been a Meritt guy myself
JMO.. but Wilson's seem to fatigue quicker structurly

I primarily pulled a Wilson with a floating deck. I always thought it was a good sturdy trailer.Of course, this was before punch sides came along.
What I did not like was no dog house. In addition to third floor decking, the nose and tail also had to be decked.
I occasionally pulled a slat side Barrett with a 10” tuck and I also thought it was a good trailer.

The good news is the boss had a good maintenance and replacement program.

You don't mind bashing me on a thread I said nothing wrong, you simply don't like the company I work for so you attack me. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. You sow what you reap!
