Sorry for the misunderstanding .. I did a poor job of quoting ..I'am in total agreement with you ..
But to answer you question .. Yes I own & drive a hood ..and no I don't get 5.5 mpg .. it's actually closer to 4.5 mpg ... there's nothing aero dynamic about my truck & trailer..
My truck has been paid for since I purchased it in 1997.. it has been completely rebuilt 2 times since I have owned it.. it's 41 year old truck so I keep a savings account well stocked with enough money to rebuild it.. I also have a project truck that I'am building in my shop right now and another day cab truck that I use for local work when needed
I would be a bold face lair if I said I could get through this high priced fuel situation totally unscathed.. But everything I own is bought and paid for .. and I can pick and chose when & where I go
I also can't any means be broke down on the side of the road because of lack of maintained because I would be out of business in a hurry.. so I pride myself on my maintenance program.
This is gona be a rough ride for all of us .. it's just gonna be too rough for some..pete781693, Badmon, Diesel Dave and 14 others Thank this. -

All we have to do to send a msg is refuse to deliver anything to the DC metro area it will not take long to send a clear msg
Keepforgettingmypassword Thanks this. -
We simply can't hold the public hostage by cutting off their supply. As a truck driver, your job is to supply the people of our country with the goods needed to live. You boycott a DC, someone doesn't get what they need, AND DIE,,,how do you feel about that? IDK, maybe don't pay our taxes, something to hit lawmakers in their wallets, not jeopardize our families. I do agree, it's a mess.

That would have to include DE, WV, MD, VA and DC to make the point crystal clear.

Albany GA Pilot.....$4.79 Friday morning......$4.99 Friday afternoon........$5.15 Sunday morning.
Diesel Dave and Vampire Thank this. -
There are a lot of good people even in those areas. A little more specificity I think is required.
For example, the inhabitants of Sussex county DE claim little if anything in common with the inhabitants of New Castle county. -
Sure but I was referring to the areas of those aforementioned states closest to DC. Just focusing on DC proper won't do much considering many people associated with the machine don't even live there. Otherwise, casualties are to be expected looking at any of this from a realist point of view.
It's not much different than warfare. People not involved will be affected. It's a harsh fact unfortunately. However, if we always worry about what others may think or become overly concerned with innocent people we'll never get anything accomplished of noteworthy success.
