Buying a truck from my employer?

    Its actually not an ex walmart. It is however an ex Star Truck Rentals truck. Just another reason not to buy it. I have seen ex walmart trucks in the truck paper. Front page of the Jan. 8 2010 North Central issue.

    i think you made the right choice drlmi. sounded pretty fishy to me. why the hell would you have to pay insurance and maintnence on HIS trailer? no sense to me. good decision my friend.

    I would not do any lease purchase deal, with anyone. let's say you do well for a while. then when your about 5 months from paying truck off, he does not get you as many loads as when you first started, & then the loads he does give you are paying less per mile. he controls what you make, so he does not want you making enough to pay truck off. pretty soon a month or 2 before payoff, your in too much debt, from fuel cost & other expenses, you cannot make the payment. sorry, he say's he has to repo the truck. many or big co's have done this very thing many times. talk to any l/p operator, they all start out great. great money, loads. e.t.c until it is close to paying off truck. they take truck back if you can't pay & take the same truck & start the same thing over with some one new.
