You know, after going over their website... I'm not so sure I want a lipe clutch. Nothing that has been said has been bad & everything was all good until I saw where the corporate headquarters were at... Sure, they manufacture the clutch in Paris, Tennessee. But how do I know for afact my money won't be going to India?
So, they have to pay the power bill, property taxes, and employee wages! That is a little more comforting to know, but if I have a issue or a warranty claim, am I going to be able to speak to a customer service rep in Tennessee.... Or am I going to have to speak to someone who can't speak English?
Sorry, I'm just one of those gotta buy American whenever possible people. One reason why I bought this particular truck is because it was built in Nashville.

It was assembled in Nashville but where are all the parts made? India, China, Brasil, Mexico, Russia...

Good for you Redd. Nothing to be sorry about in that statement!!! To bad more people dont have that attitude. It often costs me more money but i try to by American when i can. I cant imagine that things are that much more expensive(after shipping, import fees etc) buying American. I blame much of it on corprate greed, taking advantage of our desires to buy American....

Supporting local economy is a great idea and I also support it. But the problem is that almost every thing is bought overseas and "assembled" or claimed built in North america for a premium price. Makes me sick to see MADE IN CHINA stamped on high priced Caterpillar parts. North american companys are greedy and drive the consumer away with high prices. Just phone any large company tech line, most of the time you are not even talking to a person in north america, the company is subleting to a foreign company save money. I work outside of north america at times for a Canadian base company. They buy spare parts for engines I work on for about a 1/4 of the price we pay here. Same parts, just not the greedy mark up.

DDS is right. Most American manufacturers are really assemblers. They take parts made all over the world and assemble the finished product here. Personally, I think it's un-American and un-patriotic for our companies to send jobs overseas. I know they are maximizing profits but it's destroying the fabric of communities and people all over the country.

Harley Davidson does it. They still try to say all American made when its actually just assembled here. Not all parts are made overseas but alot of them are.

Sorry about your losing your job Lipeman. And i DO UNDERSTAND your needing to leave the workplace without finishing the day. Better than having the cops escort you off the property for cleaning off the CEO's desk for him...I dont know the reasons behind your being laid off, and it doesnt matter, it still sucks. Thanks for the help with the clutch questions and BEST OF LUCK to you with your future.......LIPEman Thanks this. -
I'm not sure who you are LIPEman, but I should have met you and have sold many people on LIPE clutches. Joe knows who I am and I'm actually using one of the first few custom modified clutches he built. I hope things go better for you in the future. Kurt
LIPEman Thanks this.
