you gotta spray it with cleaner, then gently rinse it out......AND WAIT TILL IT DRIES.....

then spray it with thier oil.....CAREFULLY or your engine will suck up that over-oiled residue and muck up any sensors in the intake plumbing....

best to have bought 2...that way, one is always ready to go to work, while you wait till the cows come home for it to dry, after washing...

'and THAT costs money...the filter, the wash spray, the oil....

best to just buy ordinary factory approved dry filters.

i'll personally NEVER buy another K&N filter, inspite of the claims of "% MORE HORSE POWER", as to me, that claim is 100% MORE HORSE CRAP".

I agree I have 1 in a pickup I bought a year ago.... what a PITA.. If the previous hadn't hacked up the air box I would go back to a OEM.. still might go to a bone yard and get a air box and switch back .. I would never buy them for my big trucks

Instead of a fancy K&N or others, I just put in a Really Big Honkin Air Filter in my 1997 Dodge Cummins.

Works very good at filtering and lasted far longer than the tiny square stock paper filter they came with.
