Back in the 60s, there were record players designed for cars. Mostly played 45's, I think. A friend of my brothers had one and it worked pretty good when the car was stopped. Not so good when moving. Never really caught on.

Yeah mp3's are pretty lousy, if you're interested in a better quality audio check out flac/lossless.

I take offense at that statement.. I never was homeless or by your standards a hobo...I started driving OTR in 1986 .. bought my 1st truck & trailer and lived in that truck for 5 years untill it was paid for
The only things I ever bought at a truck stop was fuel & a shower..maybe a chunk of electrical wire and a toggle switch if I was in a bind
You would suprised how far a wink & a smile and licking your eyebrows would get you with the ladies at the fuel desk back then.I never went with out anything I needed
To this day I never regret doing that and there's many days I wish it was still like that

If I wasn’t married I wouldn’t own a house. Probably live in a truck for a while. The less I have the more freeing it feels.

Not everyone who lives in the truck is a dweller. It's hard to put a definition to it, but I think most of us know the type. They're never good employees, they invented the non-bathing trucking lifestyle, and rarely took care of their equipment.

It was almost like they were in trucking to be able to live in the truck, and not living in the truck because they were trucking. Not nomads, but hobos.

Sorry that net was cast so broadly.

Man, if you can lick your own eyebrows then I'll bet you can impress just about any woman.
