New Authority power Only...Help me Plz!!!!1

I am in same position as you!! I thought I would find work fast but it is a lot harder than it thought!! I'm about to say forget it and sell the truck I can't find work either with new authority, im giving 1 more week or im done,,, good luck my friend if I get a hit on anything I will let you know and send info your way..

 

There’s plenty of work with power only, what companies or 3PL’s have you tried signing up for?

 

I was starting this summer. From the day one I have better rates than in my previous carrier because of the good dispatch. I also have my Conestoga trailer.

You definitely need an dispatch and probably to rent an trailer.

 

The first step to succeed is know your numbers. Know how much your spending daily. Like your bills, car notes, truck payment, etc. if your daily cost $1000 a week and you bring $500 a week. Yeah you’ll fail.

you can make money with power only. Your load choices and routes will be limited but you still can bring in decent money.

if your authority is less than 90 days, you’ll struggle a bit. JB hunt, Truckstop, and DAT load boards are your only option and once you pass 90 days you can join Schinder.

Learn your cost and you’ll do fine. Just don’t settle for cheap freight. You’re not only hurting your self but others as well.

 

There are a few brokers that will work with brand new authority. Tql, coyote, tall grass, I know there are a couple more but I cannot think of them at this time. Just hang in there some others require 3 months and some require 6 months but after that it seems like everything opens up. My husband and I have been doing power only the last year and have been doing quite well. So you can do it.

 

Its not impossible you just need to know how to navigate within the system until you get past your 90 days. There are several brokers who will work with newer authorities and also if you have 3 completed loads some brokers will take that as proof. I have a list of about 11 brokers who work with new authorities. I work for a few new authorities. I think as a new OO is important to focus on driving and work with a good dispatcher to help you naviagte your way. If you want more info just let me know.

 

Dont give up. You just need a little help to get you started? Try CH Robinson, Oneline Freight and TQL to get started. Have you ever filled out a carrier package before? it can be a bit overwhelming but once you get started you'll be good to go. What load board are you using?

 

Convoy has a lot of power only, depending on the area you’re in.

Swift/Knight Logistics has a lot power only, I see many Owner Operators pulling for them.
