I run 25/70 all the time, before & since the slide. Nothing dangerous bout 25/70. Not that bad of a road little steep & narrow in places. No switchbacks though. But IMO if one can't drive on these types of roads they don't have any place behind the wheel anyway!!

Before the slide NC side was just restricted to overwidth heck even 102 trailers & a length restriction, says length on a sign at the TN line. Will take a gander at it Mon morning. Never really paid much attention to it, cause I have to be on it.

TN side was somewhat restricted before the slide, only because of an ancient bridge thats falling down with a 10 ton limit, looks like the new one is about done the detour was a pain though. First restriction after ther slide was maxium length of 40' now anything over 10 tons in NC or TN gets you nailed.

I'm on it daily because our shop is in Del Rio Tn right on 25/70 so I'm legal. I'm sure once the gorge is back open & they finish that bridge in TN I'm sure 25/70 will open back up to thru traffic, well except for NC's length & width restrictions.

What is really sad.. The day that this opened back up... we were heading west on I-26 and saw a sign that said I-40 westbound closed due to truck accident. So apparently a flatbed lost his load and went into the ditch or something like that, according to the CB reports. So we had to do the detour thing again... Not even open one day and one side gets shut down.

If you need me to, I can try and search for a link about the accident, if they have one.

Anyways, hope it is open now.
